Is it too late to prune an evergreen honeysuckle?

IlikeplantsIlikeplants Posts: 894
It flowers in summer, I’ve forgotten which month, covered in creamy yellow flowers, leaves are quite large. It’s a mature plant covering half an arbour and is sprawling in the wrong direction and probably is top heavy. Do I prune now or wait after it flowers?

It's probably "Halliana"..... if it smells of orange blossom. As far as I am concerned, it can be pruned whenever you feel like taking on the task as the plant is an absolute thug.

thanks @Ceres. Good to give it a name too. It looks nice in full flower but has gone a bit wild looking

Thanks Cambridgerose, as it’s still March maybe I’ll still get around to it.
