Name of f Bush

Hi everyone,I’ve forgotten the name of this bush,which I planted about 8 years ago, when it was very small,I don’t know whether it is dying now or it just needs a good pruning.It has not looked too good for a couple of years now,& the underneath is quite bare,I would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice.Thank you in advance.

    I think it's an escallonia. Does it flower later in the summer with either white, pink or red flowers?

    I'd say it has the classic symptoms of escallonia leaf spot https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=108

    Hi yes, it usually flowers early summer,& has a little pink flower,but it hasn’t done very well for the last couple of years now,only produced a few flowers.Im wondering if I should just dig it up & get rid.

    Ours this year looks like yours and we think it is on the way out.
    No idea why but it has been in the garden for at least 20 years.
    Just old age?

    Hi Bertrand-Mabel, yes I think mine is too,as it looks lifeless,so I have made up my mind to get rid.I could do with the space anyway,as I’ve had a lovely Hydranger bought me & no where to put it.
