Do plants with pure white flowers come true from seed?

Or do colors reappear? My understanding is that if it is a natural species it will always remain white. But what about "Alba" forms of plants that are not always naturally white or hybrids? I have a Morning Glory called "Pearl Beauty" and the seedlings are always white.

It depends, some do, some don't! If it was seed-raised there's a good chance it will come true if none of the coloured versions are nearby. If you can't get the white version from seed, that shows that it's a white sport that doesn't come true from seed.

Not for the seeds of my white echinacea.. and I think the same is true of white foxgloves.  I think the colored versions is dominate for some species.

Thank you Loxley, but remember we are not all expert gardeners - that's why we post here! What is a "white sport"? Presumably not an amusing Caucasian guy. To be serious for a moment. There are a lot of Morning Glories in our Brazilian garden. They are hugely variable. Some are sterile hybrids, some natural species, which are nearly always purple. The original seed came from Thompson & Morgan.
