Help with weed ID please

edited March 2021 in Plants
I've been battling against Lords & Ladies and lesser calendine which has taken over some my beds... but I also spotted these two and not quite sure what they are.

The second photograph looks like a foxglove. The first one may be a geranium
  • Thank you - I wondered if it was geranium, but I don't remember it flowering previously.

And if that is a foxglove that's great, I wonder if its biennial as I don't remember seeing it last year... or I pulled it up thinking it was a weed :(

Yes in general foxgloves are biennial, it's early in the season so it may well flower this year.

There's a pink flowered geranium that gets in everywhere. It specialises in getting into places that you can't remove it from without damaging your plant.  If it's arrived unexpectedly , that might be it .  I'd remove it asap myself  but I can't assure you that that is what you've got.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thanks both - I have carefully weeded around the potential foxgloves. The lower leaves had what looked like snail/slug damage so hopefully they will recover!
