Blueberry Pink lemonade-brown tips

Hi,
I wonder if someone could help please.
I planted x 3 blueberries in ericaceous compost in pots abs sunk them into the ground at my allotment. The soil feels wet-not heavy wet when checking the first 2/3inches. West to south west aspect.
today however I noticed that there is browning to the leaf edges and some of the new leaves look to show a slight red tint to the edges. Ekk, what could it be?

It looks like the cold weather has burnt the tips of some leaves.
With the pots buried in the ground, unless the soil is acidic the moisture from the surrounding soil will slowly alter the pH of the compost in the pots making it unsuitable for them which may be showing up as yellowing on the leaves.
I'd keep them on top of the soil unless the soil is quite acidic anyway.

I feed mine from around now until Sept once a month with a soluble azalea feed (i use Miracle Grow) and I always use rainwater on them

  • Thanks very much, I def think the cold weather may have got them as we had a cold snap not long after. Good idea on moving them on top :)
