Planting Prunus Amanogawa

I have just brought a Prunus Amanogawa for my rear garden.  I garden is surrounded by a brick wall.  How close can I plant the Prunus Amanogawa to the brick wall without causing damage to the wall as the tree grows overtime.  How far do the roots spread.  Thank you

I don't know, but about 30yrs ago in my enthusiasm and ignorance I planted one in my front garden probably no more than 2ft behind the front wall
This photo is from about 25yrs ago. The prunus is the tall skinny bare thing right next to the pointy conifer on the right. It was not long after I moved in and I was way too enthusiastic with my planting :)

About 10 years ago I removed all the conifers as they were getting huge.
By then the cherry was best part of 20ft but still thin and the wall wasn't damaged.
I had it taken out a couple of years ago when I widened the drive

I think 2ft is probably way too close really - maybe I was just lucky
