Dark fence painting

Hello
we are looking to paint our fences and the new ones at the back are so dark, would the midnight blue work on this colour fence? Sorry I am new to owning a garden and fences!

    IMHO blue looks fine in bright sunshine, but awful on a cloudy day

    Dark fences always look good, helps to recede it into the background and a great foil for the things you want to see - plants, pots, the seating areas etc. A neutral charcoal black or anthracite grey goes with everything. Midnight blue is a lovely colour but a tad more dominant, what happens if you get bored with it? Well you can always paint it again, of course. Why not try it out on one section and see what you think?

    Looking at the website, it seems that it's not a very blue shade of blue (if that makes sense), l was picturing the Barleywood Blue that was all the rage a few years ago 😳. It may not be that much lighter than the existing colour . Light will make a difference as well. As Nollie says, the only way you will know for sure is to paint a panel and see what you think  :)

    Cuprinol Garden Shades do a colour called 'Urban Slate' that is almost exactly the same colour as the grey panels on the houses behind. I would probably go with that. As Nollie says, it will make your planting etc stand out against it. Garden Shades will cover previous colours - it's thicker than a wood stain - so you could go lighter if you wanted. It will also do your concrete posts.
