I hope no Blackbirds are looking into the Forum - they will either be terribly embarassed or ROFLOL.

It'd be a shame if 2 posters were put off simply due to a misreading/misunderstanding.

Admittedly not all gardeners tend their plots with wildlife in mind but plenty do - best way is to encourage them rather than engage in a pointless spat. We get enough of that with politics.

One of "my" resident Blackbirds is singing away at the moment - I'm guessing but a rough translation would probably be something close to @Fairygirl 's comment :D

I haven’t misunderstood or misread anything. I really didn’t like their attitude towards me when everything I do (including work!) is all around helping wildlife.

Being new to gardening doesn’t really mean anything in terms of their contribution to helping wildlife, they could be a dedicated conservationist (for work) that happened to live in a flat or rented property until that property with a garden of their own.

I think we can all calm down now, the blackbirds are being a mild pest and it’s ok to complain about things that are mildly irking you!

Thank you. Just because this is the first garden we’ve had and I had no clue about gardening and all the pitfalls etc, doesn’t mean anything regarding my contribution to wildlife or how I feel about the natural world!

That sounds fair enough to me.  Gardening, especially for new gardeners, isn't quite as simple as some gardening pundits like to suggest.
I suspect lots of gardeners have a variety of wild creatures which for one reason or another, they are not always aware of.  The more it is brought to our attention, the better off they and we will be.
As suggested, there is nothing wrong with having a little moan about creatures which T you off a bit - I expect they do exactly the same when they see you with a rake, spade, mower or whatever - "Oh no - wretched people interfering again"  :D

@Wildlifelover if you click on a user’s name, you get the option to ignore them on their profile page so you won’t even see their posts.

If another users intentions seem purely to belittle, start arguments, blow their own trumpet and generally make the forum less pleasant for others I’d heartily recommend using it.

My garden is almost entirely geared towards wildlife, but I still get stressed by the rabbits eating every new shoot to the ground, you don’t need to explain yourself to anyone

@Wildlifeloverits perfectly normal to love something and also to find it annoying and stressful. Children for example.
it seems strange that somebody would reopen an old thread simply to criticise the OP? Do they have nothing better to do?

    Take a look @debs64 - there's been a pattern  ;)

Ignore button is the best solution for this kind of thing, as @Jellyfire says, plus reporting, which has been done .  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks both, I was really upset by all of this. Hopefully I haven’t been reported, if so I am sorry if I offended anyone.

    It's not you that's been reported @Wildlifelover :)

It's nice that you've offered an apology - but it isn't necessary. Easy to get wound up by goading though. Many of us have been in that situation. Take a breath, and rise above it if you can.
..and use that ignore button  ;)
