Garlic feed ..?

Hello there, can I use seaweed or tomato feed on my garlic? I don’t have any potash so trying to be a bit economical with what I’ve got 😊

  • Yes. I don't generally buy into the 'specialist feed' for many different kind of plants (which the manufacturers would like to sell you, in small packages, at high cost). That said, I do buy a bottle of one of the 'usual' tomato fertilisers most years, but have no qualms about mix-and-match with whatever 'general purpose' fertiliser I have (one of the ones with cystals/powder). Maybe merit in an 'ericaceous' fertiliser for acid-lovers too, but otherwise just look at the NPK numbers on the product. Only the ratio of the numbers is really relevant - a product with higher numbers overall will recommend more dilution (so will 'go further) than one with lower numbers.
  • Thanks! That’s what I thought but couldn’t find a definitive answer when I googled it. Shall get feeding with what I have 👌
