Viburnham Tinus Evie Price

Hi - new to Forum! I have managed to grow a beautiful hedge with the Viburnhams and they have been healthy for a couple of years,  They are bordering our driveway so no other plants etc nearby but last year I noticed that something has been eating the leaves leaving a 'lacy' effect which is quite unsightly.  I have looked for signs of bugs etc but so far have come up with nothing.  Could this be Viburnham Beetle and if so, how do I deal with it?  Help!

Sounds like it. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do about it.

If its around the edges it will have been vine weevil all the ones on our estate have been nibbled.
If you can post a photo it will help identify.

Also, if it's being chomped by the dreaded viburnum beetle, you'll often notice a horrid smell, too...

"Holes in the leaves of viburnums can be caused by the larvae and adults of viburnum beetle. Plants can be completely stripped of foliage and can emit a foul smell, which is thought to be caused by the excrement of the larvae."
