Planting an edge by the lawn on a height
My lawn area is on a rising slope from the house.
I have edged the garden from the driveway with 2 sleepers.
I want to plant something along the edge between the sleeper and the lawn.
I planted osteospermums last year and they were beautiful, but the frost in February killed them all which was very disappointing.
I was thinking of replanting with a border of hebe. I would like all one species along the edge and something with colour, something that doesn't grow too high, but something that is eye catching and cheerful against the black sleeper and green grass.
I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

The more colourful hebes tend to be tender so you might lose these in a cold winter or some of the leaves will die off and the whole plant very tatty.
I good tough low growing shrub is euonymus with variegated leaves.
