Cutting back Chinese Peony?

Hi,
Am I ok to remove all these old stems today? Just cut them off by the soil?

    As long as it IS a herbaceous Peony lacitiflora, then yes, cut the old leaves of to the ground.  However, if there is any chance it could be a tree peony or hybrid, then don't cut the woody-looking stems at all.  Can you post a photo if you aren't sure?

    @BobTheGardener thank you 😊 I’m not sure no, I used an app at the time to find out what it was! I do have some photos actually of when it was in bloom so have attached those and also a photo of it now. Thanks again!

    It is indeed an herbaceous type, so you are safe to remove the dead leaf stems. :)
