Possible weed?

I have an unidentified plant springing up all over my garden,  possibly a weed  with very deep roots.   Does anyone know what it is please?

Really!  I have several of the big albums but didn't know they seeded like that!
  • Wait and see whether you like the flowers when they emerge. For me Allium cristophii springs up everywhere from self-sown seedlings. Most peple (me included) think of that as very attractive (for the dry seed-heads too), though I've now taken to removing the seed-heads before the seed is scattered, as there's now too much of it. At this season, it looks just like yours, but so do lots of the other species/cultivars. The others ones I have - 'Purple sensation' etc. don't seem to seed-around at all.

You probably gather - it's a bulb, and it won't be all that deep, if it turns out you don't like them.

I tried digging one out just now and couldn't get down deep enough to figure out whether it was a root or a bulb.   The are all over my garden so will do as you suggest and play the waiting game.  Many thanks for the info.
