Echinacea not germinating

  • The packet I had in magazine, took a long time but are coming on ok now.

    I've had very little success with them, slow erratic germination and extremely slow growth with plants that needed kid gloves protection. I've decided they are not plants for my garden. I have the same trouble with Rudbeckia, I bought a really good plant which I divided into 2 and has since become about 10 massive clumps in my beds.

    Multiple attempts at growing echinacea from seeds have failed. So, I resorted to planting bareroots this year. Tiny leaves are popping up, yay!

    I am so glad you popped this on- I had a poor result with the free seeds from GW last year and still have 2 of them in pots doing nothing ... I planted more seeds about 1 m ago and  so far 8 out of 18 have sprouted ...I am so not feeling them
