Very uneven chamaecyparis hedge

Hello, I would be very grateful for advice about this conifer hedge, which we planted around three years ago.   Some of the trees (see photo) are growing well, but a few in the middle have hardly grown upwards at all, though they don't look unhealthy.   I have never pruned the hedge.

    Hello and welcome.
They have the appearance of a prostrate conifer. Do you know the name of the variety you purchased?
  • Hello and thank you!

I'm afraid I can't remember the name of the variety, but it was a commonly available one.   I had to go for something that would be able to stand up well to strong westerly winds.   All the trees looked the same when we received them.   They have a slightly gold tinge to the leaf edges.
