Personally I'd take it out and grow in a pot. I was given the Chameleon one and after reading reviews and warnings myself decided not to plant in the ground. The person who gave it to me grows it in a contained pond.
@d.bowers237RE5ssKtA I would say not to worry about it, and keep it on the dry side if you won't want it to spread. I don't have any experience of the plant but if it's described a a pond marginal plant then it's gotta be wet/damp to thrive. I was just thinking that I've got a damp shady area that would be ideal for this plant! Water pools in heavy rain so a pond marginal plant would be ideal.
Well, it's done... took about 2 hours of excavation around tree roots to get it out - glad I dint leave it any longer as it was a right pain after just 6 months growth! Let just hope I got all of it and don't end up with a sequel on my hands!
I'm guessing it wont be until next year when I find out, so fingers crossed until then. We do have a lot of clay sail around this area so wasn't worth waiting to find out whether or not it became a problem or not. I just hope I wasn't too rough with my tree!
Just be vigilant and root out any new growth and ensure all us removed. There probably will be some but sounds like you have got the bulk of it. I really like it but it should stay in a pot and even then, cut off flowers before they seed!
