Leatherjacket or worm?

Hi all,

Saw a bird tugging on the attached pic today. Is this a leatherjacket? It's a new lawn which had an infestation of daddy long legs in the autumn so I applied nematodes a couple of weeks afterwards.

I've got seed ready to patch/overseed as it was always a bit thin. If these are leatherjackets do I need to do another treatment before seeding and fertilising etc? Would you recommend nematodes again or just a black sheet?

Thank you and sorry if this is  just a worm!!!

We’ve all been a bit silly from time to time. If you don’t know it’s best to ask ... I despair of the number of accounts we get of people poisoning something quite harmless or even beneficial just because they didn’t recognise it.
So .... ask away ... we wont laugh ... promise 😉
