greengage issues

Hi there,

3 years ago my greengage was happy and productive but since then it has had very little fruit, what fruit it has had is full of worms despite looking fine, the tree bleeds a yellowish sap and the tree trunk just doesn't look right.

Can anyone help?

    We have 2 types of greengage and have only been able to harvest a very very small number of fruits. It flowers well but then the frost come and pollination doesn't happen.
    Not sure about canker but could it be to do with the weather we had last year? Many ups and downs with lack of rain (but then you may be in a different area).
