    Sow them closed with fishing line or similar?  Hot glue gun?  Those holes are going to have to be closed one way or another.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    Yes, I'm thinking of threading this in and out along the length, should make the gap less than 7mm I think...

    Wish I'd seen these holes before buying, it wasn't obvious on pictures. It was from tarpaflex, they have it listed as garden/ allotment netting. I think other types don't have them. I should probably try sending back but I've chucked most of packing out now.

    I would fold it along the line of the holes and wizz along it with the sewing machine, assuming it would feed through OK which isn't necessarily so. Failing that, hand stitching would be slower but still possible - you don't need tiny neat stitches. That'd be a job for an evening in front of the telly.
