Bay Tree

Hello, my bay tree leaves over the last year have turned a mottled brown - see pictures
Any simple advice to cure this or deal with it?
Many thanks.

Is your tree in a pot or in the ground? Can we see a picture of the whole plant?

  • Pot is in the ground. Surrounded buy laurel

It looks like It is suffering from lack of water - among other things😊
A photo of the whole plant and situation would help.

Agree, a photo would help but it will most likely be struggling for water in competition with the laurels, which would weaken it and allow infection or sap-sucking pests such as scale insects to gain a foothold.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Laurel leaves are also looking a bit sad, picture of Bay tree in surrounding, Laurel and Laurel leaf

It looks very dry and very crowded. That acuba on the right will get very big too. I think you'll have to decide which to keep. As the laurel seems to be winning the battle, it's probably best to go for that.

It's worth a try. It hasn't really got a chance where it is at the moment. There's another thread on the go where someone has posted advice about moving a bay tree
