selinasallyselinasally Posts: 166
I was given a beautiful large one last week and the problem is I plan to redo my whole garden drastically and I understand it does not like being moved- but I also read it also does not like pots - has anyone any advice please ...many thanks

  • Yes, it doesn't like pot life at all. Sorry! Can you either leave it in its current pot for a bit, or else find a spot where it is least likely to need moving during the reorganisation?

I would keep it in a pot for the time being, in a cool spot in bright shade. But if you put it in the ground I'm sure you could get away with moving it in a few months or up to a year, as the roots will not spread out into the soil that much in that time. You could use a root control bag if you think it will be much longer.
