  It's a garden plant, they will never perform in the dry and warm conditions of a house. Just find a protected spot outside and give them a chance. They can easily be damaged by frost but they bounce back. Maybe add a photo as mentioning a catalogue...I have a vision of a tiny plant. Have a couple in the garden, they're marvelous shrubs.

  You didn’t say you had it indoors!
  
  As @amancalledgeorge says, it is NOT an indoor plant, it needs to go in the garden, so no wonder it’s poorly. It can live in a pot outdoors, one of my ‘Black Pearl’ Loropetalums is in a 40x40cm pot in an ericaceous (acid, low PH) potting mix and and does fine outdoors.

  I planted mine in a pot last summer outside and it’s ended up looking like yours too. Think the winter might have killed it off but will wait a bit longer.
