Could you post a close up of one of the flower groups and leaves?

  • Hope that is clear enough :-)
  • The leaves are not really leaver more like conifer type

...does it stink?   I think it's Diosma ericoides 'Pink Fountain'...
    East Anglia, England
  • I know this except I cannot remember its name. A frequent component of florists bouquets. I have a feeling it's from NZ. It's really bugging me. Hopefully, someone will be along with an ID. I think the photo is clear enough for anyone in the know.

It looks a bit like waxflower, which I think is the NZ shrub Rachel is talking about. I've looked for some for my cutting patch recently and not been able to find it anywhere so I sort of assumed it wasn't UK hardy. Is this in your garden @lovemygarden2?
  • I think it is a type of diosma as well. Not sure if they stink as suggested above as I had one in the garden that I think has died but never noticed much of a smell from it.
  • Thank you all so much :-)
Checked on Diosma, looking very much like it may be the one, it is in my friends garden and she is having an extension so I can take cuttings / plants etc
On the Isle of Wight next to the sea, salt, very windy,(wind being the biggest obstacle) but guessing if they grow for her should have a chance of being successful with anything I can move and take cuttings from (fingers crossed)

are the leaves soft or stiff like a conifer?
