B & Q verve compost what is the fibre in it?

Just bought a bag of Verve compost. I have had it before but not for a year or so. this is full of little tiny fibres that look very similar to fibre glass. Does anyone know what it is please?

Possibly rockwool, which is sometimes used in horticulture, so maybe it's part of the peat replacement medium?
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Yes they do 2 versions now. One with peat, and one peat free.
