Scabious Black cat

Last year I had the most wonderful display of flowers and the same could be said of my Scabiosa. I now look at the plants and they seem to have died off no life whatsoever in them. I did cut them back-should I have done?

Yes.  I used to leave the old foliage on over Winter, to protect them a bit from frost.  They will probably start showing new shoots as soon as the weather warms up.  I believe they are short-lived perennials.  We lost ours a few years ago, and I never had any more seed left.  A shame, as they are wonderful flowers.  Make sure to try and collect some seed from them in the Autumn.

Most helpful. I didn't realise they were short-lived perenials.
