Tomatoes

Hey all. I have some tomatoes on a windowsill that have now got their true leaves. Can I put them in my greenhouse now? The greenhouse is unheated. If not, if I put them in a normal propagator in the greenhouse, would that be ok? And how about my peppers?

I'd keep them indoors for  a while yet. It's only Mid March and a bit chilly at night

I keep mine indoors and pot them on at least once, usually twice, before they go into the greenhouse mid April. Peppers need it even warmer.

Ok thanks for that. I wasn’t sure. If I got a heater for the greenhouse, would that mean I could put them in? Can anyone recommend a good heater? I’ve seen tubular ones that seem ok. My greenhouse is 6’8 by 6’4. It’s wooden, not aluminium.

it'd cost a fortune to heat a whole greenhouse just for some toms and peppers. Give them plenty of light, but not too warm indoors ( or they get very "leggy" )

I agree with Hosta, keep them inside on a sunny windowsill until at least mid April.

The rule of thumb for toms/peppers is above 10° and below 30° for outside optimum growth, but who ever gets the optimum 😆
