Shrubs for an area prone to flooding?

We have a brook running across the bottom of our garden -- not as idyllic as it sounds, as it floods at least twice a year! Does anyone know of a reliable medium-size shrub that will grow with its feet in constantly damp soil and survive flooding (to a depth of about 4 feet)? I'd also like it to be wildlife friendly, if…

Yeah Cornus or Willow. You can buy sticks of various colours which grow quickly.
