Tree lillies

I was given 3 tree lily bulbs for my birthday in August. I planted deep in pots as suggested and overwintered in unheated greenhouse. All grew lovely a reached roughly 8" tall. Two have now withered and died from the top even though staked. If I cut back will they continue to grow
