Cherry blossom spring watch

micearguersmicearguers Posts: 646
A nice harbinger of spring, these images were taken today. I may update it over the next weeks; hopefully the expected bad weather won't dampen the display. It would be nice to see more cherry blossom pictures - of course the season already started with earlier-flowering species and in wamer climes. It might be nice to have a yearly thread dedicated to this even? Below is our Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai'.

  • Have the same type of fuji cherry just starting to flower here as well. Mine is a bit smaller but it has given a good display in previous years. Also in the video clip is a shot of a winter flowering cherry which has started to produce another few flowers in the last week or so after taking a break when it was colder.

Absolutely adore my kojo-no-Mai and can’t wait for it to come into full bloom.  Just bought my daughter one for her garden in her first home and she’s so excited. Will post picture soon.
  • Mine has opened a couple of its blooms...took it just now after the torrential rain and as the sun put an appearance

It's beginning to acquire that snowy look.

We don't have a Cherry in the garden but we are fortunate to benefit from a number of street trees  and other people's front gardens, in and around our area.

    Sorry they are sideways again!.
