What can I plant under Gunnera Manicata
in Plants
Hi, I want to create a bog area specifically to grow a gunnera manicata. What could I use to underplant and that would help extend the bogs area of interest in autumn/winter after the gunnera has died back?
Thanks,

Maybe grow some plants in pots and sink them in the soil once you have removed the leaves.
Good evergreens are euonymus as they are variegated and if you get the right one they spread rather than grow tall.
Leaves will create so much shade not even weeds will grow under it.
They do grow huge!
last 2 pics show them wrapped up for winter....using upturned leaves to protect the centre.
