Sunblaster T5 grow lights question

Hello
I am having a go at growing plants from seed using a vitopod propagator with Sunblaster lights on top of the lid. I am wondering if the lights are too far from the seedlings as they are a tiny bit etiolated (possibly.) Does anyone know the optimum distance between seedling and lights?

I used mine last year and towards the end I did add a plug tray to the base upside down and sat my actual plug tray on top. Lifted it about 2.5 inches, it does make a difference. I’ll be doing it again soon.

I was thinking of doing that. Will have a go. Thanks very much!

T5 lights don't give out a lot of heat - the lights can be 6" above the plants which will increase the strength dramatically and prevent legginess

I have put the trays on top of inverted gravel trays. The lamps do give out a fair amount of hear though. I wouldn't want to hold my finger on one. They came with the Vitopod. I was actually rather disappointed - I was expecting LEDs for some reason. Ah well.
