Will these lilies flower?
in Plants
Hello
I repotted some congested lilies from one pot into three late last year. The plant was a gift in flower two years ago and last year it produced leaves but no flowers. The bulbs were really packed in, hence separating and repotting them.
They started sprouting some weeks ago and of course are quite tall/leggy due to short days. I've fed them each week but think they've come up too early to flower.
I'm tempted to remove the tallest leaves but don't know if that will just finish any chance of flowering.
They are in a west-facing window and I have been putting them on the table overnight most nights to keep them away from the cold glass.
Is there any hope for flowers? They were a lovely deep purple so it would be good to see them again.
NB given the size of the plant initially I am happy that the pots are not too small, more that the plant is twice as tall as it was, which I'm reading as leggy/looking for light. They were on a north-facing windowsill until two weeks ago.
Thanks
