Ideas for large trees in pots

slucasluca Posts: 3
I live in the Peak District with a south facing garden. I’m looking for a 2-3 metre tree height in a large pot to sit on the patio. Can anyone recommend a suitable tree? Ideally, something other than an acer, I have plenty in the garden and would like a different tree.
Look forward to your suggestions.

the tree isn't the problem: the problem is finding a pot suitable for a 3m tall tree.

A tree in a pot on a south facing terrace will need watering every 5 minutes as the sun and wind will soon dry it out, even in a big pot.

The RHS offers this advice - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=274 If you have the space for 2 pots you could try a pair of apples on dwarfing rootstock so they cross pollinate each other and that would give you blossom, fruit and foliage interest.

I grow Acers in half barrels. They get huge but I have a drip irrigation system which I could not manage without.
