Apple tree

Hi,
I moved into my house just over a year ago and have been transforming the garden ever since. Last august/September I found a crab apple and another apple tree with 2 nice apples on.
I’ve finally got to the bottom of the garden to give it some TLC to find the tree I thought the apples were attached to is dead. Turns out there were two apple trees and the one that fruits is laying horizontally across the floor. It seems really healthy but this isn’t ideal. How should l tackle this? It doesn’t seem too established, the main stem is probably the thickness of a can. Thanks

  • sorry, I stand corrected. Just been and checked and it’s only the width of a broom handle
  • Could you post a photo?
  • Thank you so much! Unfortunately this garden was clearly once loved but left to go wild so who knows how long it’s been like this. I’m glad you’ve said to try and lift it, I can get it lifted and moved to the new veg garden now where it will have plenty of room and no grass!
Thank you, I’ll let you know how it gets on!
  • I can safely say this tree has been lifted, moved, pruned back and is now budding up. Fingers crossed for the summer!
