I have a skimmia which has red flowers on it at the moment but when they disappear (they’re disappearing now) there’s only green leaves and I thought there would be white flowers or berries? Do I need another skimmia nearby for pollination?

I think skimmia come in male and female forms (like holly) so you'll only get berries if you have a female one and it's been pollinated by a male (or if yours is a self-fertile variety). The "red flowers" are most likely the buds, but I've no idea why they might not open.

The red flowers could be 100% male.

Try Skimmia japonica subsp reevesiana.
