Well, you know how it is on the forum these days @punkdoc...   ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Loved the last episode of GW the guy rolling his "R's" you don't often hear such good diction it seems as out of fashion as Muscari..

Yes.  I was wondering whether he was or had been an elocution teacher?

My thoughts were that he was possibly a trained singer ...  he lives not far from us ... my former line manager who was a fantastic gardener was very aware of his garden, also I'm sure I've come across his name in the past ... possibly when I worked at an Early Music Centre ... mailing lists etc.

Yes he did have a regional accent although I couldn't place it but his diction was precise I thought a singer too.

No wonder, then, he reminded Artemis of her school music teacher!

  • When Monty said, 'next year we're reverting to half hour programmes without viewers gardens' I was delighted, but sadly it was a dream.

Me too. I think, in their desire to be more 'inclusive', the BBC have resulted in dumbing down & diluting our precious gardening content on both Gardener's World & GQT. Having seen the way Children in Need has wormed its way into both Countryfile & Autumn Watch I'm really surprised it didn't show up in GW to pad out the hour!

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
