Rhubarb - when to pick

I sowed rhubarb seeds late last spring ... Glaskins perpetual. I think almost every seed must have germinated. By the autumn they were looking fabulous, with lots of stalks. I did not pick any. Would you regard this season as the 1st or 2nd season? I am not sure what to do with regards to picking this year. Any thoughts?

    I always thought that rhubarb shouldn’t be licked in its first growing year, so this year ought to be ok, no?
