Callicarpa bodinieri 'Profusion' - Beauty Berry - Canker???

Can someone please advise if this is canker on my Beauty Berry shrub?
The plant was doing so well last year. I repotted it in spring, looked after it, and then in autumn those two ugly things appeared. Initially, there were only three stems coming out of the soil but in summer a new shoot appeared (see arrows in photo) - thought this might be an indication of something. The marks are really close to the crown and according to some websites, a plant won't make it with canker close to the crown. Is there any chance I can save it?
P.S. I was planning to plant it out this year. Now not sure, if it will become a hazard to other plants. To be honest, so many trees around our village have canker, all of our neighbors' trees are so unhealthy. It's very discouraging to invest into new shrubs and trees and try to grow them healthy. I bought a beautiful large wich hazel shrub last year that flowered in winter. This year there are no flower buds and it's covered in what it looks like cankers. I think there is canker on my Wisteria now as well
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
