Ratty compost on the veg bed?

  I can’t answer your question but had a similar quandary yesterday. Emptying the nicely decomposed vegetable peelings dalek bin I saw a rat scuttling away. I proceeded to put the compost on the runner bean bed then thought better of it, scraped it up and put it around the peonies and delphiniums instead.

  I'm thinking I'll bag it for a few weeks, use it on the veg bed and put a mulch over the top of it...

  That is a very good article @AnniD. I can confirm that regular banging on the side of a compost bin / raised bed etc where somebody has recently set us residence 'encourages' them to move on and find somewhere quieter to live🙂

  Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

  It's interesting that Weils disease is so rare in this country, or at least diagnosis.
