Magnolia leaves black
in Plants
Hi, I took a look at my magnolia today. I’m not sure what’s wrong with it as the leaves are turning brown / black and the flower pods are damaged. It has never flowered since I planted it about 2-3 years ago. Any help or advice would be welcome. Photos below.

As to the brown leaves even evergreen trees lose leaves so it might not be anything to worry about.
Have you looked at the back of the leaves before?
I cannot be sure which Magnolia you have.
But Magnolia grandiflora leaves are rusty-brown and tomentose below. see link.

This is completely normal.
It is still a baby. Yes the growing tips may have been damaged by cold temperatures, but it should be fine.
It is often planted near buildings to protect it from the cold.
