Hanging baskets/bedding plants

Hi
i planted several hanging baskets/containers with various bedding plants just from the supermarket. All did really well but I’m just wondering what I do with them this year?
will they grow back? Shall I cut them back? Or do they need replacing?attached are pictures of what two of them look right now.
Thanks

I chuck everything out of mine into the compost bin, start again with new compost and plants in the early summer.  Turned your 1st photo for you,

How do you do that Lyn?
A couple of my photos loaded sideways and I tore out my hair trying to rotate them without success.

If you’re using an iPad, bring up the photo, click select, click edit and then look for a little square symbol with an arrow curling round the top corner. That’s your boy.

Has anyone noticed in films how the camera shows the scene as being upside down if the action has us believe, for example, we’re in a car that has rolled over. That doesn’t happen. The brain adjusts the image to be the right way up.

Similarly, when we are viewing a scene as if through binoculars a sideways figure of 8 image is imposed on the screen. That doesn’t happen either.

To return to @Shenny ‘s query ... yes most plants sold as ‘bedding plants’ for containers and hanging baskets etc are with annuals or tender perennials and will not survive most UK winters ... you’ll need to start again with fresh multi-purpose compost and new plants ... but don’t rush just yet ... it’s too cold for those plants to be outside just yet so unless you have a greenhouse or conservatory where you can grow them on for a couple of months it’ll be best to wait until mid May before getting your new plants and planting up your containers.

Great. Thanks for the advice and the time frame. That is really useful.
