Frog pond surround

I am about to use half round drainage and soakaways to drain main garden of excess rainwater. Would a (water-storage) soakaway however, placed next to my large garden frog-pond, create a good boggy environment for the plants the frogs like to hide amongst, while also preventing it becoming the usual seasonal mud-bath from all the rains?

I dont think this question can be answered.
Depends if your drainage system works, how much rain we have and could possibly add more water in one area and make it worse.
Do you already have this area planted as i have found frogs in my garden and there are no ponds nearby and it didnt seem fussed what it hid under

It could depend entirely on what type of soil you have but if you are having to install drainage in your garden, it does suggest that the area is prone to waterlogging and directing the excess water to a "bog" might just mean you get two ponds for the price of one.
