  Yes.  In fact it'll keep the fruits off the soil and cleaner.

  Absolutely. Easier and more successful in pots, I'd say.
  
  If you look after the runners, 2 plants will become as many as you want in no time

  You will still have to keep an eye out for slugs and snails even when you grow strawberries in pots. I've learnt that the hard way.......and lost a nice harvest into the bargain.
