Depth of Planters

Morning all. I have a few shrubs I’m going to pop into a few wooden planters, I’ve got all the correct conditions but the planters are only about 5.5 inches deep. Is that sufficient for them to develop and grow long term? Thank you

You would need at least 40cm or more depending on your shrub but 5 inches is only enough for sumner bedding plants.
