Possible tree problem?
in Plants
Hello,
I'm new to the forum as today I noticed one of the large trees in my garden has some orange growth on a few of its larger branches.
I'm not sure the tree species as I'm a complete novice and we've only recently moved in, but I know it has large red leaves throughout the summer. Then loses them for the winter.
I did a little googling about the growth but wasn't 100% sure what I was looking for. I did read that if the tree is stressed, it would create new shoots from the bottom, which it has, hence the worry.
Anyway I've attached a picture in the hope someone can point me in the right direction to helping my tree or just saying if it's normal.
Thanks in advance!

Ah ok that's good to here. I've attached another picture as close as I can get without a ladder.
As for the species, I can't quite remember what the leaves looked like when we viewed... Will be interesting discovering all the species in this garden!
Thanks again
