Time of year for Holly pruning

Hello all, I feel like this must have been asked many times before on the forum but I can’t find it! 

What’s the best times of year please to prune an established holly hedge? There seems to be mixed thinking. Ours is a prolific grower and seems to need an annual decent prune with an additional tidy-up.
