  • What about Viburnum oculus Compactum. White flower balls, good autumn colour

  • Thank you everyone for your ideas.  It was a toss-up between viburnum or Philadelphia.  I think the Philadelphia has won by a nose!  Just got to find an established one now 🤞🏼
    Thanks again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Am I too late to suggest Mahonia japonica?

I have one in the deepest, dampest shade and it’s flourishing. Bees love the flowers, birds love the berries. And it’s evergreen.

And it’s leaves will deter any unwanted visitors too.😊
No suggestions are ever too late pansy!  I love pastels rather than bright colours and in the back garden I tend to go for whites, pinks, mauve etc.  The garden at front of the house needs some work and I do think a mahonia would go well there.  Anything to help the bees!  Thank you 😊
