Peach/nectarine in the midlands

Hi
I live in the midlands but I really want to grow a white peach/nectarine tree. Is this possible? What advice do you have for keeping them healthy and protected?
can I grow them indoors all year round?
thanks!

East midlands here. Have a "dwarf" peach tree (around 5 years old and 5 ft high) in an unheated greenhouse in a sunny back garden, keep it there all year round. I don't bother with any additional protection in cold weather, even with with temp around -7c the other day it appears to be fine and is just starting to bud now. Flowers around end of March and produces a fair few peaches which are ready around the end of June.
  • West Midlands here, we have a small Peregrine peach in an unheated greenhouse, planted in the ground. We get an excellent crop each year about 5-6kg last year.  No additional protection and we leave the doors wide open on sunny days in February and March (Advice from Bob Flowerdew). We’ve had it 4 years and it’s very healthy.

Original intention was to have it in a pot and move it outdoors March to October but we decided we didn’t want to have to move a heavy pot.
