    Thank you I’m very grateful for all your comments. Think I may well try and grow the hedge and see if I can fill the gap.

    To fill the gap you could buy instant hedging, i.e. a hedge grown in a trough-shaped bag. Practicality Brown are near me and I've used them before. This is the link to their instant hedging page to give you an idea of how it looks/works https://www.pracbrown.co.uk/instant-hedge/

    You may find a supplier close to you who offers the same.
