Raspberry

I dug a very old raspberry from a fruit cell in my plot. I wanted to add new canes. But I just read that you shouldn't plant new canes where raspberries grew before I can move the large fruit cage! Give advice please

    I am going through exactly this scenario.  I am replacing my raspberries, but I don't want to move the cage. So I am going to make some deep beds with fresh soil from another area and some home made compost. I will enrich this with Q4 fertiliser and some remin, rock dust for added minerals.  It's not ideal and a lot of work, if I could move the cage it would be simpler. I have my fingers firmly crossed.
